The attachments show inspections that
were completed in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2012 when mining was active. The "Hazardous Conditions" part
of the report would detail any issues related to subsidence. Weekly inspections continued even after the mine
was idled so the most recent (and final) inspection has also been provided. The mine portals are now sealed
and no access to the mine is permitted per MSHA regulations. Additionally a map is attached that shows the
completed entries (mined area as -built) at the time the mine was idled, the final production report, and
documentation from the DNR stating that production reports would no longer be required given the idled status
of the mine.
I believe that to fulfill subsidence monitoring requirements only a 2nd and 3rd quarter report is required since
those are the only two quarters the mine was active. Since monitoring was required on a weekly basis by
MSHA I can provide additional documentation if needed. All reports show that no hazardous conditions (ie.
roof falls, pillar degradation, faults, or excessive inflow) were observed. Some inflow is normal as the
interface between formations often contains some water. The mining did not reach a point where any streams
or water bodies were undermined. Further, mining methods were restricted to CM (continuous mining or room
and pillar mining) so no subsidence could take place as stated in the Subsidence Baseline Report.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information.
- Scott Cowman
PO Box 250 136600 Routt Counfy Road 271 Hayden I CO 1 81639-0250 1 USA
Office: 970 276-7003 1 Mobile: 970 367-6123
https:Hm ai I .googl e.com/m ai I/u/0/?ui= 2&i k=e29129fcb5&view= pt&search= i nbox&th=14e4664cd08c95d6&si m l=14e4664cdO8c95d6 1/3
