Originally, CC&V proposed to pump from the down gradient of the two
cement ponds constructed to collect water from the underdrain line and toe berm cut-off trench.
After further engineering review it was concluded that a better approach would be to build a sub-
surface enclosure (see attached drawings 30-800-19 and 60-800-20 prepared by AMEC Foster
Wheeler) with a well to collect water from the underdrain and cut-off trench that runs along the
toe of the berm. Water from the toe berm cut-off trench will be pumped into the sub -surface
enclosure and then pumped with the water from the underdrain line up to the SQADR. The
existing cement ponds will be lined (see attached letter dated 31 March 2015 and plans for lining
the ponds from AMEC Foster Wheeler) and used as emergency overflow for the sub -surface
enclosure. A trash pump will be used to feed water from the cement ponds back into the well of
the sub -surface enclosure as space becomes available following the event that caused the
overflow.
CC&V is planning to construct the pump back in the second Quarter of 2015 following approval
of this TR by the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety ("DRMS") and
appropriate approvals from Teller County.
