NWIA Section 21, Twp 8 North, Rng 53 West, 6th P.M., Weld County
CONDITIONS FOR APPROVAL
® Exposure of ground water must not occur during or after mining operations.
® The applicant will need to document that any water used at the site was obtained from a legal source,
or was diverted in priority under a water right decreed for such mining /industrial use.
COMMENTS: The operator has filed an application to convert the Dollerschell Pit from a 110(c) Limited Impact
Construction Materials Permit to a 112(c) Regular Construction Materials Permit.
The conversion application seeks to add 22.1 acres to the currently permitted 9.9 acres, for a total permitted
area of 32.0 acres. The addition of the 22.1 acres is sought to include affected lands outside of the currently
approved permit boundary.
The Dollerschell Pit is a surface mining operation located approximately 5.5 west- northwest of Sterling,
Colorado. The primary commodities to be mined at the site are sand and gravel for road material. The site is
proposed to be reclaimed to residential use upon completion of mining operations.
A Minerals Program Inspection Report dated October 9, 2014 found the site to be in compliance with regards to
hydrologic balance.
This office has no objection to the subject conversion application.
oF Coco
1313 Sherman Street, Room 821, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3581 F 303.866.3585 www.water.state.Co.us
