Therefore, exposure of ground <br />water must not occur during or after mining operations. <br />® The applicant has indicated plans to use water for the following purposes at the permit site: ❑ <br />evaporation, ® dust control, ❑ reclamation, ❑ water removed in the mined product, ❑ processing, <br />❑ other: . The applicant will need to document that such water was obtained from a <br />legal source, or was diverted in priority under a water right decreed for this use. <br />COMMENTS: The subject application is for a surface mining operation on 16.2 permitted acres of pastureland <br />located approximately 2 miles east of Greeley, Colorado. The New Cache La Poudre Irrigating Company is <br />constructing a 9.13 -acre agricultural pond on the site. Construction of the pond will produce approximately <br />120,000 cubic yards of mined material, including dirt, gravel, and top soil. The proposed post- mining use of <br />the site is developed water resources. <br />The proposed pond will be synthetically lined. It is anticipated that all work will be done above the ground <br />water table. There will be no water used with the mining operation, other than for dust control as needed. <br />The proposed operation is not expected to affect surface or ground water systems. <br />Any storm water runoff intercepted by this operation that is not diverted or captured in priority must infiltrate <br />into the ground or be released to the stream system within 72 hours.
