Therefore, exposure of ground
water must not occur during or after mining operations.
® The applicant has indicated plans to use water for the following purposes at the permit site: ❑
evaporation, ® dust control, ❑ reclamation, ❑ water removed in the mined product, ❑ processing,
❑ other: . The applicant will need to document that such water was obtained from a
legal source, or was diverted in priority under a water right decreed for this use.
COMMENTS: The subject application is for a surface mining operation on 16.2 permitted acres of pastureland
located approximately 2 miles east of Greeley, Colorado. The New Cache La Poudre Irrigating Company is
constructing a 9.13 -acre agricultural pond on the site. Construction of the pond will produce approximately
120,000 cubic yards of mined material, including dirt, gravel, and top soil. The proposed post- mining use of
the site is developed water resources.
The proposed pond will be synthetically lined. It is anticipated that all work will be done above the ground
water table. There will be no water used with the mining operation, other than for dust control as needed.
The proposed operation is not expected to affect surface or ground water systems.
Any storm water runoff intercepted by this operation that is not diverted or captured in priority must infiltrate
into the ground or be released to the stream system within 72 hours. Otherwise, the operator will be required
to make replacements for evaporation.
The applicant may contact the State Engineer's Office with any questions.
1313 Sherman Street, Room 821, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3581 F 303.866.3585 www.water.state.co.us
OF CO
C)i
1876
