Inspector Comment:
Inspection performed in response to complaint#200408961. EPA forwarded the complaint alleging that the facility was accepting E&P
waste and that the waste may be impacting an adjacent creek. Performed inspection with Heather Barbare Weld County Dept.of Health&
Environment. Met the owner, Mr. Doug Derr, on location who also participated in the inspection. He stated that he was not accepting
drilling fluids, but accepting material generated from hydrovac trucks that consists of dirt and water. He was also taking some clean
cement returns. Piles of dirt/mud were observed and a hydrovac truck unloaded during the inspection. No E&P waste such as oily waste,
drilling fluids or drill cuttings were observed. The floor of the pit was dry and there was no discharge of water from the gravel pit to the
adjacent road ditch during the inspection. There was no indication of purple stain or residue in the pit or in theroad ditch at the outfall from
the pit. Water in the road ditch was coming from another source. No COGCC violations were observed related to E&P waste.
