Therefore, exposure of <br />ground water must not occur during or after mining operations. <br />® The applicant has indicated plans to use water obtained from County -owned wells for the <br />following purposes at the permit site: E evaporation, ® dust control, ❑reclamation, ❑ water <br />removed in the mined product, ❑ proce sing, ❑ other: <br />The applicant will need to document th t the water was obtained from a legal source, or the <br />water was diverted in priority under a wa er right decreed for such industrial use. <br />COMMENTS: The subject application is for a surface mining operation on 40.5 permitted acres located <br />southwest of the town of Carr. The primary commodities to be mined at the site are sand and gravel for <br />construction projects and road surfacing. The site is proposed to be reclaimed to its current use of <br />cropland upon completion of this mining operation. <br />Excavation at the Koskie site will not exceed 15 eet in depth, which test pitting has shown to be above <br />the groundwater table. Therefore, no groundwa er is anticipated to be encountered at the site. Water <br />for dust control purposes (estimated as less than 4,000 gallons per year) will be provided via truck from <br />County -owned wells permitted for such use. <br />A stormwater construction permit is proposed to a obtained from the CDPHE to prevent the migration of <br />sediment or other pollutants offsite.
