Volume IIIA, Tab 14
Art Etter
From:
Dare, Matthew R -FS < mdare @fs.fed.us>
Sent:
Tuesday, November 05, 2013 10:59 AM
To:
Art Etter
Cc:
Shellhorn, Gary -FS; Broyles, Levi -FS
Subject:
Flume in West Terror
Art: I've reviewed NEPA regs and chatted with Gary and Levi. We agree you guys are good to go to install a flume next
year without additional NEPA or permitting on our part. Prior to installation it would be good to know where you are
putting them and what the dimensions of the structure(s) are. Gary and I agree the only potential issue is fish passage
but I feel strongly that a flume would not constrain fish upstream fish passage at base flow as long as it didn't constrict
flow too much (ie, it didn't create a firehose effect on the downstream end).
Give me a call if you have more questions.
Thanks, Matt Dare
Matthew R.
