IJ 1~r Z <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety — "-- ---- <br />1313 Sherman Street, <br />Denver, CO 80203 ti L O 3 J <br />RE: Swede Corner Pit <br />Dear Mr. Oswald: <br />Based on a site visit of the Swede Corner Pit conducted on March 7. 2014, I detennined that <br />Southway Construction has adequately revegegetated the main pit. However, the access road to <br />the pit and around the pit requires additional work. <br />The entrance road off of County Road T was not reclaimed. Because this is not a BLM system <br />road, the road should be ripped or disced and seeded with the same seed mix used in the pit. If <br />we don't reclaim it the public will continue to use that road which may lead to trash dumping <br />and /or destruction of vegetation in the pit. Once reclaimed, BLM will install a sign on the road <br />and no other barrier will be required. <br />It appears as if the road around the pit was disced and seeded, but there is very little vegetation <br />on 75% of that road.
