Box 1190 Loretta Pineda <br />Fort Collins, CO 80522 Director <br />RE: Weaver Quarry; DRMS File No. M -1989 -010; Notice of Request for Second Term of Temporary <br />Cessation <br />This letter is to inform Counties and Municipalities within two miles of a mining operation of the intent <br />of Pete Lien & Sons, Inc. to put the above referenced mining operation into a state of temporary <br />cessation. This letter is sent pursuant to the requirement of Rule 1.13.6(1) of the Rules and Regulations of <br />the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board. <br />Please be advised that on December 31, 2013, Pete Lien & Sons, Inc. whose address is P.O. Box 440, <br />Rapid City, South Dakota 57709 filed a Notice of Temporary Cessation with the Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety (Division) for the Weaver Quarry. The mining operation is located in approximately 9 <br />miles north of Laporte, Colorado in Township 9 N, Range 69 W, Section 7. <br />The second period of temporary cessation will commence on March 26, 2014 and will last up to five <br />years from that date until March 26, 2019. The notice submitted to the Division contains information <br />pertaining to the reasons for cessation of the mining operation, a plan for resumption, and measures taken <br />to comply with reclamation and other necessary activities related to the performance standards of Rule 3 <br />of the Rules and Regulations in order to maintain the gravel pit in a non - producing or non - development <br />state. <br />The Notice of Temporary Cessation will be placed on the monthly agenda of the March 26 -27, 2014 <br />meeting of the Mined Land Reclamation Board. During that meeting, the Board may consider acceptance <br />of the notice so long as there are no issues with performance or reclamation standards via inspection, file <br />review, and no concerns are expressed by interested persons who would be adversely affected or <br />aggrieved. <br />Please submit written comments regarding this matter to the Division by no later than 5.00pm March 24 <br />2014. <br />If you need additional information please contact me at (303)866 -3567 x8116. <br />Sincerely, <br />/&- I <br />Michael A.
