Bowie Resources, LLC (BRL) has proposed to expand the material storage area located east of the B Seam portals. The proposed material storage area is currently used to temporarily store the material excavated from the B Seam portal faceup. BRL is proposing to permanently relocate 6,000 cubic yards of available B Portal backfill material and instead utilize it as cover material on Gob Pile #2. The relocation of the B Por- tal backfill material will result in the reclaimed ground surface being 1.9' lower than the original ground surface over.the 4.5 acres of distur- bance at the B portal. The Bowie No. 2 Mine is a /an Un- derground coal mine located in Delta County /Counties, approxi- mately 5 miles NE of Paonia, Colo- rado. Coal interest is Federal and private, and the surface affected is Federal and private land. The permit area encompasses approxi- mately 9,196.50 acres. This proposed decision is based on a finding that the proposed operation will comply with all re- quirements of the Colorado Sur- face Coal Mining Reclamation Act, Section 34 -33 -101, at seq., C.R.S., and the regulations promulgated thereunder. Copies of the proposed decision, including stipulations, are on file for public inspection at the Colo- rado Division of Reclamation, Min- ing and Safety, Room 215, Centen- nial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203. Persons with an interest that may be ad- versely affected by the proposed decision may request a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board on the pro- posed decision. Such request must be made within ten (10) days of the initial publication of this notice, must be in writing, and must state with reasonable specificity the rea- sons for the request and the objec- tions to the proposed decision.
