Revision of prime farmland reclamation practices including topsoil redistribution and
revegetation plans.
Dear Ms.Turner and Mr. Morgan:
The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article
33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on October 4, 2013, a permit revision
application for a permit to conduct coal mining operations, Permit No. C- 1981 -008 by Western Fuels -
Colorado, LLC, was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as
provided in the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules and Regulations of the
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining initiate from this date of filing.
The revision addresses prime farmland reclamation practices, including topsoil redistribution and
revegetation plans; replacement of the irrigated cropland technical standard with a reference area; and
determination of prime farmland areas.
The Surface coal mining operation is located approximately 1.7 miles Northwest of Nucla, Colorado. The
permit area is further described as follows:
1.7 miles northwest of the Town of Nucla
The above - mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map(s):
Nucla.
A copy of the revision application is available for public inspection at the Montrose County Courthouse, 300
Main Street, Nucla, CO. 81424 and at the Division Office. For additional information, to provide written
comments, or request an informal conference, contact the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety,

public notice in the San Miguel Basin Forum.
