The bond <br />release application was found complete by this Division on October 4, 2013. This application is <br />a request for release of Phase I, II, and III bond liability on both disturbed and undisturbed acres <br />located within the permit boundary at the Roadside North and South Portals Mine. The <br />following acreages are included in the Bond Release Request: 9.1 reclaimed acres for Phase I <br />release; 13.7 reclaimed /permanent acres for Phase I, II, and III release; 122.6 reclaimed acres for <br />Phase II, and III release; and 2147.0 undisturbed acres for Phase III release. Portions of these <br />areas have been disturbed by mining facilities or structures or have been undermined. A surety <br />bond in the amount of $805,952.60 is in place of which $719,560.86 is being requested for <br />release. The surface ownership is Federal and private, and the coal mined was Federal and <br />private. <br />We will contact you to advise you of the Division's required bond release inspection of the site as <br />soon as it has been scheduled.
