Box 423 <br />Nucla, CO 81424 <br />27 March 2012 <br />iekah(ma v ?i(B64 216; Lear OwnerlResident: <br />im 9?IS'�64 -216ti <br />Western Fucls- Colorado, LLC. conducts surface coal mining operations at the New Horizon <br />Mine located just west of Nucla, Colorado. We are required by Colorado and Federal law <br />to publish our blasting schedule in the local newspaper every twelve months. We are also <br />required to mail or deliver a copy of the blasting schedule to each residence located within <br />one -half mile of the blasting site described in the schedule. Enclosed is a copy of the 2012- <br />20 13 blasting schedule. <br />If you have not had a pre-blasting survey conducted on your resident, and the residence is <br />kicated within one -half mile of the blasting site. y(w have the right to request one. Ityou <br />have added to or remodeled the residence since your previous pre- blasting survey, you may <br />request another. The survey will determine the condition of the dwelling and document <br />any existing damage and other physical factors that could reasonably be expected to be <br />affected by blasting, Assessments ol'structures such as cables, pipes, transmission lines, <br />wells and other water systems, and septic systems shall be limited to surface conditions atud <br />readily available duta. Special attention will be given to the conditions of wells and <br />cisterns used for human, animal, or agricultural purposes and to the quality and quantity of <br />well water. <br />If you believe a residence owned or occupied by you falls within the one -half mile radius, it <br />has not previously been surveyed and you want a survey conducted on it: please call Ross <br />Gubka at (970) 804 -7910 or Tom Fry at (970) 861 -7590. if they do not answer, you nay <br />leave a message on their voice mail, but please give your name, telephone number, the <br />physical address of the residence to be surveya and the best time to return your call. You <br />should also feel Free to stop by the mine office at 27646 Wiest 5th in Nuclu to make your <br />request ifyou prefer. <br />We have conducted over 150 surveys otresidences in the Nucla area, so it is likely that <br />yours has already been surveyed.
