1
August 13, 2013
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
Attn: Mr. Jim Dupler
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Subject: Greeley West Pit, M -1977 -081, Annual Report
(blue earth
SOLUTIONS
RECEIVED
0 2013
DWISM OFR
M MD 4* ,
This annual report summarizes mining and reclamation activities at the Greeley West Pit, Permit
number M- 1977 -081, during the report year ending August 15, 2013. The following attachments are
included with this cover letter.
1. Annual fee check for $791.00,
2. Completed annual report form, and
3. Annual report map.
Mining and reclamation highlights from the report year include:
➢ On July 24, 2012, succession of operators from Lafarge West, Inc. to the City of Greeley was
approved.
➢ The two existing SW Ponds have been dewatered and are actively being mined as one mining
cell approximately 30 acres in size. Existing side slopes have been graded to 311:1 V or flatter
and 311: IV side slopes are being maintained as mining progresses.
➢ Portions of the SE Pond have been backfilled to create two berms. The berms separate areas
of the pond to be backfilled from areas to be left as open water for final reclamation. The
pond was dewatered to perform the berm construction, but the pond is not currently being
dewatered. While the pond was dewatered, selected pond side slopes were graded to 3H:1V
for final reclamation. Areas above the anticipated pond high water level were seeded with
native grasses for weed control and final reclamation.
➢ The permit area north of the Cache la Poudre River (approximately 40 acres) remains
undisturbed.
For additional information please contact Blue Earth Solutions or the City of Greeley Water and
Sewer Department.
Sincerely,
Blue Earth Solutions, LLC
!rte C,C
William Schenderlein
Attachment
Blue Earth Solutions, LLC # P.O.
