wood logs, mulching as appropriate to control runoff from slopes located above the stream until
the revegetation efforts take hold. As available, Salix willow species, such as S. exigua and S.
geyeriana and S.monticola and Narrowleaf Cottonwood Populus angustifolia can be planted
amongst the rock protected drainage and wet fringe areas to provide additional erosion control
and wildlife habitat. We have included an additional PAP page H -11 to Exhibit 2.05 -E6,
Revegetation Plan — Section 2.9 — Elk Creek, Drainage Reclamation to describe these efforts
Exhibits and Drawings
1. Please update all permit drawings /maps to reflect the latest permit boundary changes of
PR-6 and PR -7.
Oxbow Response: Please see the attached updated maps series: 2.04 -M6 — Surface Water
Hydrology, 2.04 -M5 — Ground Water Hydrology, 2.04 -M8 — Regional Vegetation and 2.05 -M8
— Post Mine Land Use.
2. Table 4 in Exhibit 2.04 -E6 is illegible. Please submit a legible version of table 4.
Oxbow Response: We were able to contact the original author of the report and found the
attached copy of the requested Table 4, pages 20 through 24.
3. The Note on Drawing 2.04 -M8 refers to Drawing 2.05 -M3 for supplemental detailed
vegetation information; however, Drawing 2.05 -M3 is the Elk Creek haul road profile.
Please reference the correct may for the supplemental detailed vegetation information.
Oxbow Response: Drawing 2.05 -M3 sheet 2/2 make a reference to the mountain shrub
community with the symbol MS.
4. Please update Drawing 2.04 -M8 Regional Vegetation sheets 1/2 and 212 to include the
latest permit boundary changes and include the vegetation types both within and beyond
the permit boundaries according to Rule 2.04.10(3).
Oxbow Response: The Drawing 2.04 -M8 1/2 and 2/2 has been modified to include the available
vegetation information for the expanded Permit Area. It s important to note the vegetation
information provides the detail required by Rule 2.04.10(1) for underground mines.
5. Map 2.05 -MI does not have the disturbance boundary labeled. Please update the map
and included the disturbance boundary.
Oxbow Response: The disturbance boundary is shown on the map and identified in the Legend.
6. Drawing 2.05 -M4 (4/4) shows a typical plan for drainage and sediment control of
degasification wells. Typically, a clean water diversion ditch is located upsloye of the
pad to divert clean water away from the disturbance. The diversion ditch works well
when the slope of the hill is great enough to move the water. When the hill - slopt: is
shallow at wells located on top of the mountain, a diversion ditch may not he effective or
needed because the slope is too shallow to move water. At these shallow slope wells, the
diversion ditch causes a significant amount of damage to the surrounding vegetation with
• Page 4
