Peabotq Peabody Sage Creek Mining, LLC August 13, 2013 Mr. Jason Musick Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 Denver, CO 80203 -2273 Peabody Sage Creek Mine PO Box 250 36600 Routt County Road 27 Hayden, CO. 81639 ceNt-W �� X0,3 pvG 19 �dN SON OF�p �E� RE: Peabody Sage Creek Mine (Permit No. C -2009 -087) — Minor Revision (MR20 -13) Mine Dewatering Pump System Dear Mr. Musick: PSCM hereby requests a Minor Revision (MR20 -2013) to the approved Sage Creek Mine Permit (0- 2009-087) for installation of a mine dewatering pump system. Two boreholes will be drilled (approximately 10' apart) into the mine; one 14" diameter hole for the water pump and one 5 5'8" diameter hole for pump controls (see revised Map 2.05.3 -MIA South End Facilities). Both holes are to be steel cased. The hole for the water pump will be seated in a 6'x 6'x l' concrete base sitting on the ground surface. A 4'x 4' x 8' metal building will be constructed on the concrete platform containing the pump system to prevent freezing. Power will be brought to the pump and building by the addition of two power poles and transmission lines coming from the existing MCC building. An outlet pipe will also be installed in the concrete base to convey water to a nearby ditch (RC- D3). The pump will operate intermittently depending on mine in -flows and never exceed 50 gpm (capacity of the pump). The downstream drainage structures are over - designed and can easily accommodate increased intermittent flows of up to 50 gpm/0. I I cfs. This submittal contains (2) copies of the following items: • DRMS Revision Application • Text Edits • Revised Map 2.05.3 -MIA South End Facilities • Insertion instructions A minor amount of excavation will be required to make space for the drill rig, however the area is already considered disturbed so there will be no increase to the disturbed acreage calculation.
