Outfall 012 — Pond B
The pond discharge valve was opened on 07/21/2013 at 0730 lirs and outflow sampled at 0800 hrs. The
valve was closed 07/22/2013 at 1200 hrs. The manually operated headgate valve was opened to insure
necessary capacity and stability of the pond after the extreme inflow event.
The data indicates a T'SS of 44 mg/l, which would exceed the primary 35 mg/130 -day average
requirement but under the daily maximum requirement of 70 mg/l. However, since the discharge is a
result of rainfall induced inflow it is appropriate to waive the primary TSS effluent limit and claim the
alternate effluent limit for Settleable Solids (SS) instead. The analytical results for SS indicated <0.1
mUUhr which is well below the 0.5 m] /1/hr requirement.
As the storm occurred at the end of the month, this sample was the only sample taken during the month.
Please see the attached analytical results for additional information. The data indicates that none of the
discharge requirements were exceeded as Oxbow was able to meet the applicable primary or alternate
effluent limits. Overall, Oxbow is pleased that the ponds functioned as designed and in accordance with
the approved CDRMS designs and the CDPS Permit.
No other issues were encountered during July 2013.
