The exploration
equipment and methods will be the same as those used during the prior drilling programs. BME
anticipates one contractor supplied drilling unit will be sufficient to complete the drilling. A basic
drilling unit consists of a air rotary drill with coring capabilities mounted on a tandem axle truck,
a drill pipe trailer or truck, a water truck and a supporting pickup truck. Holes will likely be drilled
with 5 5/8 inch diameter bits using air with water and foam injection. The B -Seam coal will be
core drilled in several of the holes. All holes will be geophysically logged.
BME will likely drill six to eight of these proposed new holes in the fall of 2012. The other holes
may be drilled during the summer /fall of 2013 up to the term of the license. Drilling operations
will be conducted during day shift only or around - the -clock in two 24 -hour shifts. It is estimated
that only 1 or 2 days will be needed to complete each hole depending upon the work schedule.
Surface reclamation procedures and drill hole plugging will likewise be conducted in accordance
with terms of COC- 74817. All drill holes will be fully cemented with hole identification markers
placed at the surface. Reclamation of disturbed areas will be initiated following site
abandonment. A surety bond (No. 105624507) was posted for COC -74817 in the amount of
$21,000. Additional bonding will be provided as needed.
