Pineda <br />Director <br />RE: Twentymile Coal Company, Permit C -82 -056 <br />Second Quarter 2013 Discharge Monitoring Report Review (Permit CO- 0027154, CO- <br />0036684, CO- 0042161, COG - 850054, COG - 850051) <br />June 2013 Discharge Monitoring Report (CO- 0027154) <br />Dear Mr. Watterson: <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (CDRMS) has reviewed and found the <br />above referenced reports to be in compliance with Rule 4.05.13(2). The Second Quarter Discharge <br />Monitoring Reports for the above referenced CDPS Permits were received by the Division on 06 August <br />2013; the reports cover the time period from 01 April 2013 through 30 June 2013 and 01 June 2013 <br />through 30 June 2013 (CO- 0027154). <br />Permit CO- 0027154 — During the month of June 2013 only Outfalls 005A/M0N5 /005W (Pond D) and <br />003A/003Q (Pond B) flowed. <br />Outfalls 002A/002Q (Pond T), 008A/008Q (Pond G), 005A, 005W, M0N5, 005Q (Pond DO, 007A, <br />007W, M0N7, 007Q (Pond F), and 003A/oo3Q (Pond B) discharged during the quarter. <br />No exceedances were noted for the quarter or during the month of June. <br />During the second quarter 2013 WET tests were collected for Outfalls 005. The tests indicated that the <br />effluent was not acutely toxic to Daphnia magna. The required WET test for 007 is for Ceriodaphina <br />dubia; however, the WET test for 007W was identified as Daphnia magna. <br />Permit CO- 0036684 — Outfall OOlA/OO1W/M0N1 (Site 62) each week during the quarter. Three <br />exceedances occurred during the quarter. Exceedances for total suspended soilds for the 30 day average <br />and the daily maximum occurred in June and one exceedance for settleable soiled for the daily <br />maximum occurred in June. <br />Permit CO- 0042161 — Outfall 002A (sites 300E and 300I) discharged during the quarter, with no <br />exceedances noted.
