Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) hereby issues notice, in accordance <br />with Title 34, Article 33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on <br />March 6, 2013, an application to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the <br />Williams Fork Mines was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment <br />periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from <br />this date of filing. <br />Moffat County Mining, LLC (MCM) proposes to continue underground coal mining and /or <br />reclamation operations on land located approximately 7 miles Southwest of Craig, Colorado. The <br />permit area is further described as follows: <br />All or portions of Sections 4, 5, 6 and 8, T5N, R91W; part of Section 1, T5N, R92W; and Sections <br />17, 19, 20, 21, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33, T6N, R91W; portions of Sections 25, 26, 35 and 36, T6n, <br />R92W; 6th Prime Meridian.. <br />The above - mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle <br />map(s): Round Bottom. <br />MCM is requesting to proceed with the renewal process for their existing approved Mining and <br />Reclamation Permit for the Williams Fork Mines, which expires on September 6, 2013, and <br />through this submittal establish their successive right of renewal. As part of the renewal process, <br />MCM must include and update information within their mining permit, addressing threatened and <br />endangered species. The Division would like to respectfully request the assistance of the Colorado <br />Division of Parks and Wildlife in reviewing MCM's list of endangered species within Moffat <br />County, Colorado to ensure all species have been accounted for in their listing. <br />Attached is a copy of MCM's proposed permit page including an updated list of possible <br />threatened and endangered species located within Moffat County, Colorado.
