In
addition to showing data from the last four quarters, Table 1 also presents results of the
additional sampling conducted for CEM 004, as well as the expanded list of analytes for C -Pit
and CEM 004.
On April 8, 2013 water samples were collected from CEM -001 and from the C -Pit ponded water.
On April 10, 2013, the quarterly sampling continued for CEM 004. Additional samples were
collected from C -Pit and CEM 004 on April 25, 2013, in connection with levels of chloride and
sulfate that were observed to be higher than the monitoring goals for CEM 004. Inspection of
CEM 005 conducted on June 24, 2013 indicated that the well did not produce water.
The C -Pit ponded water and well groundwater samples taken were initially analyzed for pH,
chloride, sulfate, dissolved solids, dissolved selenium and dissolved thallium, with the reported
pH data based on the pH analysis performed at the time of collection.
Laboratory results summarized in Table 1 indicate that, for the second quarter, the analytes were
within the target levels for CEM 004, except for Sulfates. Follow up sampling on April 25, 2013
indicated that the sulfate level had decreased to 161 mg/L and were now within monitoring
goals. For more information please refer to the submitted separate report dated May 29, 2013
concerning CEM 004 analytes which were higher than the monitoring goals for chloride and
Sulfate first noticed in the first quarter of 2013.
If there are any questions regarding the above information or the attachments, please contact me
at (303) 823 -2115.
cerely,
Denise ur, Ph.D.
Environmental Manager
5134 Ute Hwy PO Box 529
Lyon, CO 80540
RECEIVED
EnclsA Summary of Analytical Results (Table 1)
610 0 2 2013
0jM'SI0N '0F !REC'LWAT11,0 I
NNINGAND SAFETY
