A diligent effort has been made by Bowie Resources to abate step no.1 of NOV #2013 -004. An
additional compactor and track hoe were added to the gob pile operations. Four more people
were added in order to operate an additional shift. The operations on the gob pile currently
consist of two twelve hour shifts, seven days a week.
In addition to re- working end dumped material that accumulated over the winter month, Bowie
must process new gob generated daily from the wash plant, as well as perform routine seasonal
maintenance such as cleaning out ditches, culverts and ponds. So while every resource available
has been put on the gob pile to process material specific to the NOV, daily and seasonal
operations must also occur.
When the NOV was written on May 16, 2013 there were approximately 4.8 acres of material
that had been end dumped over the winter months. Currently, that area is down to
approximately 1.6 acres. So substantial progress has been made over the last two and one half
months to re -work and compact the end dumped material. Please see photos below
documenting progress based on DRMS aerial photos from May 16, and July 23, 2013.
2
2
..44
