Mr. Jared Dains
Amended Lafarge Middle Poudre Combined SWSP
July 29, 2013
Additional lagged depletions that will impact the river after cessation of pumping for dewatering
purposes at the site were calculated using the AWAS program. Dewatering operations at the site are
anticipated to cease at the end of July 2013, upon completion of the liner. Lagged depletions due to past
pumping for dewatering purposes will total 38.86 acre -feet for this plan period.
Total Depletions
The total depletions to be replaced under this SWSP, as amended, are summarized in the
following table:
Lagged Dewatering Depletions, as shown in the table, are from past dewatering operations that have ceased. All other current
dewatering operations were considered to have reached a steady state condition.
The total lagged mining depletions for all four sites are 197.15 acre -feet. Including the credits
that are dedicated to the Weitzel and Port of Entry Pits, the total projected depletions that are to be paid
in 2013 are 296.99 acre -feet (see Table 1).
Replacements
The replacement sources identified in the original SWSP will continue to be utilized in this amended
SWSP. Those sources consist of accretion credits from recharge of 5 shares of the Box Elder Ditch and
leases of augmentation water provided by the Lake Canal Reservoir Company ( "LCRC) and the City of
Aurora ( "Aurora "), and are described in the original SWSP.
As required by the original SWSP, the Applicant provided a copy of a signed lease between Lafarge
and LCRC for a total of 34.0 acre -feet of replacement water for the months of April, May, and June 2013 on
March 27, 2013. The release schedule has been modified to distribute some of the releases of replacement
water into July and August 2013, as shown on the attached Table 5.
Lafarge has obtained an additional lease with Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. ( "MMM ") for a total of
9 acre -feet of excess replacement water from MMM's South Platte Combined Replacement Plan (WDID
0202581). A copy of a letter from MMM confirming the lease in attached. The lease allocates 4 acre -
feet to this SWSP for the month of November 2013 and 5 acre -feet for December 2013.
