MANAGEMENT
A June 2013 inspection of coal mine waste pile no. 3 found that seepage from the Fire
Mountain Canal had surfaced in the upper diversion ditch. Wet areas were also noted below
the upper diversion ditch. The seepage did not cause any perceptible flow. On behalf of Bowie
Resources, LLC, enclosed is an application for a technical revision to incorporate a rock
subdrainage system into the design of coal mine waste pile no. 3. The subdrainage system will
intercept water that has seeped from the Fire Mountain Canal to assure the foundation of the
coal mine waste pile does not become saturated.
Sincerely,
/
J.
