While our intent is to keep the sites outside of the 100 foot criteria,
there is some chance that their location could be within 100 feet of Elk Creek.
Nevertheless, the construction of the three pads will be designed with stormwater
sediment controls such as sediment traps, straw wattles, straw bales, etc to not cause a
violation of applicable water quality standards. During and after mining activities, the
water quantity and quality of the steam will not be adversely effected and there will be
no temporary or permanent stream channel diversions.
Item #2 — Stream Channel considerations.
Much of the light road used to access the GVB sites in the vicinity of Elk Creek,
including the two low water stream crossings, are pre - existing two track ranch roads.
The road and crossings were previously also used for BLM Coal Exploration License
COC- 67112. During much of the year, the stream crossings are nearly dry or frozen.
The low water crossings will be enhanced, as needed, with minimal grading and
additions of washed rock and cobbles to improve the stability of the existing crossings to
not cause additions of suspended solids to streamflow.
• Page 1
