In addition to mechanical integrity testing and subsequent plugging and abandonment <br />work on the production wells, and continued ground water monitoring throughout the <br />well field, the roads and well pads are inspected periodically for erosion and the <br />presence of noxious weed populations. Approved herbicides were applied by certified <br />contractors periodically throughout the reporting period to control undesirable <br />vegetation and enhance the establishment of reclamation species. <br />PHOTO 3 - Dense reclamation vegetation growth on ground water monitoring well pad <br />21 -4. Photo taken <br />June 2013. <br />3.2 Reclamation of Disturbed Areas Summary <br />As the Yankee Gulch project developed from the test mine phase in 1997 through the <br />construction and operation of the commercial phase (2000 -2013) a number of areas <br />have been disturbed and reclaimed. A summary of the disturbed and reclaimed areas <br />and the present status of these areas is included in Table 2 on the following page.
