Re: Southfield Mine, C1981 -014, Second Quarter 2013 Sediment Pond Report Review
Dear Mr. Patterson:
On June 27, 2013 the Division received the Second Quarter 2013 Sediment Pond Inspection reports for
the Southfield Mine. Four ponds; loadout pond #1, loadout pond 42, pond 44, and pond 45, are permitted
under the Southfield permit. The ponds were inspected on June 7, 2013. Energy Fuels Coal, Inc.
provided additional observations or notes on the report forms.
These reports are in compliance with Rule 4.05.9(15) and Rule 4.05.9(17). EFCI noted that there was
evidence of dirt bike trespass on the west side of the load out area. EFCI did not indicate that damage had
occurred. Additional signage may be warranted to reduce unauthorized trespass. Thank you for the
timely submittal of the quarterly pond inspection reports, and annual certifications.
