INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM
TO: COLOWYO FILE (PERMIT C- 1981 -019)
FROM: ROB ZUBER
SUBJECT:
COLOWYO MINE SL -07 BOND RELEASE, ADEQUACY FOLLOW -UP PHONE CONVERSATION
DATE: 07/12/2013
In my adequacy review letter of 10 June 2013, I asked Colowyo Coal Company staff to revise the
application to remove areas that still had rock piles, a scraper road, and topsoil stockpiles. I also asked
them to clarify if a topsoil stockpile is within parcel WP019 (on the western side of the parcel). In a
response to my adequacy concerns (letter from Chris McCourt dated 25 June 2013), Colowyo addressed
most of my issues but did not address the issue with the topsoil stockpile on the western side of WP019.
To clarify this issue, I called Tony Tennyson of Colowyo on 12 July 2013. Tony reviewed his AutoCAD
files and determined that the topsoil stockpile in question is outside of the area in the SL -07 bond release
application. This is believable based on field reconnaissance and a review of maps by DRMS staff
(myself and Jason Musick). Therefore, I have determined that this issue has been addressed by Colowyo.
