• due to the occurrence of Razorback sucker in the Yampa River, which the project area's <br />annual water depletion of the Yampa River is estimated at 150.2 acre - feet/year, Trapper <br />Mine Inc. mining activities may affect, is likely to adversely affect the Razorback sucker <br />Canada lynx (Lynx canadensis) <br />• since primary or secondary habitat is not found in or near the Trapper Mining Inc. mining <br />area and the that the Canada lynx only periodically transverses shrubland areas, mining <br />activities at the Trapper Mining Inc. mine site will not affect the Canada lynx <br />Mexican spotted owl (Strix occidentalis lucida) <br />• since there are no canyons with communities of mixed conifer and deciduous trees found <br />near the Trapper Mining Inc. mining area, mining activities will not affect the Mexican <br />spotted owl <br />Ute ladies'- tresses orchid (Spiranthes diluvialis) <br />• since wetlands are the preferred habitat and the mining area soil is categorized as well <br />drained, Trapper Mining Inc. mining activities will not affect the Ute ladies'- tresses orchid <br />North American wolverine (Gulo gulo luscus) <br />• as per conversation with Terry Ireland of the USFWS, wolverines have been documented to <br />follow deer and elk herds to lower elevations and the Trapper Mining Inc. mining area <br />boasts a robust society of these creatures. Trapper Mining Inc. mining activities may affect, <br />is not likely to adversely affect the continued existence of the North American wolverine. <br />OSM understands that should the North American wolverine be listed in the future, we may <br />need to reinitiate consultation with your office <br />Yellow - billed cuckoo (Coccyzus americanus) <br />• since suitable habitat for the Yellow - billed cuckoo does not occur on or adjacent to the <br />Trapper Mine mining area, the Trapper Mine mining activities will not affect the continued <br />existence of the Yellow - billed cuckoo. OSM understands that should the Yellow - billed <br />cuckoo be listed in the future, we may need to reinitiate consultation with your office <br />Greater sage - grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) <br />• The Trapper Mine permit area does not encompass core habitat for this species. Trapper <br />does not provide suitable strutting, nesting, brooding or wintering habitat for this species. <br />Greater sage - grouse are occasionally observed within the reclaimed areas of the permit area. <br />Birds are most often observed following dispersal of brooding birds from other areas during <br />fall. Based on this information mining at the Trapper Mine may affect, is not likely to <br />adversely affect the continued existence of the Greater sage - grouse. OSM understands that <br />should the Greater sage - grouse be listed in the future, we may need to reinitiate consultation <br />with your office <br />Black - footed ferret (Mustela nigripes) <br />2 <br />
