Bowles <br />Environmental Protection Specialist <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />RECEIVED <br />JUL U 8 2013 <br />DIVISION OF RECLAMATION <br />MINING AND SAFETY <br />Re: Elk Creek Mine (Permit No, C- 1981 -022), Technical Revision No. 74 (I'R -74), TR -74 East Lease GVBs <br />(CHS #64246) <br />Dear Mr. Bowles: <br />Thank you for your correspondence dated June 7, 2013 (received by our office on June 12, 2013) and for <br />providing additional locational information on June 25, 2013 regarding the subject project. <br />Following our review of the documentation provided supplemented with information available on the Division <br />of Reclamation, Mining and Safety WebLink site as well as the GIS data provided in your June 25th e -mail, it is <br />our opinion that a finding of no historic properties affected is appropriate for the proposed undertaking. <br />If previously unidentified archaeological resources are discovered in the course of the project, work must be <br />interrupted until the resources are properly evaluated in terms of the National Register of Historic Places <br />eligibility criteria (36 CFR 60.4) in consultation with our office. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
