Trapper Mine is requesting to add 774.8 acres to its permit
area. However, Trapper will not disturb this added land because no mining will occur in the area. It
is the Office of Surface Mining's determination that a section 7 consultation with the U.S. Fish and
Wildlife is not needed for the current actions of permit revision 7. If, at any time, Trapper Mine
does intend on disturbing any of the 774.8 acres that belong to the Federal Government, the Division
of Reclamation, Mining and Safety is required to initiate a section 7 consultation with the Office of
Surface Mining.
If you have any questions in regard to this determination, please contact me at (303) 293 -5078.
Sincerely,
Nicole A.
