Townsend Ave.
Montrose, CO 81401
Dear Barb:
File Code: 2820
Date: June 27 2013
R 103
Per 43 CFR 3482.2(a)(1), the Forest Service, as the surface managing agency, has reviewed the
specific terms and design features of the Exploration Plan for Federal Coal Lease Modifications
COC -1362 and COC -67232 (referred to as the Sunset Trail Coal Exploration Plan) and find them
consistent with Forest Service policy and the GMUG Land and Resource Management Plan (as
amended). In addition, we have determined the bond amount of $224,304.22, calculated and held
by the State of Colorado, to be adequate in covering costs to reclaim the surface disturbances to a
status consistent with Forest Plan management prescriptions for that area.
Therefore, through this letter, the Forest Service concurs to the Bureau of Land Management's
terms of approval for the referenced exploration plan. If you have any questions, please contact
Ryan Taylor at the Paonia Ranger District at 970 -527 -4131 or via email at rztaylorAfs.fed.us .
Sincerely,
/s /Scott G.
