SECTION VI — BONDING SUMMARY
In accordance with Rule 3.02.2(4) the Division has reviewed the adequacy of the reclamation bonding
instruments and we have also reviewed the adequacy of the reclamation cost estimate, pursuant to this mid-
term permit review. There is currently a Self Bond (SB -004) in place for the Seneca II -W Mine in the
amount of $6,255,552.61. The Division calculated a new reclamation cost estimate taking into account the
remaining tasks to be completed that have not been released through the phased bond release process and the
tasks removed due to the approval of PR6. The Division estimated the reclamation cost to be $5,818,456.00
which is $437,096.61 less than the current bond held. Enclosed with this document is a copy of the
Division's estimate. In accordance with Rule 3.02.2(5) "A permittee may request reduction of the required
performance bond amount upon submission of evidence to the Division proving to the Division that the
permittee's method of operation or other circumstances will reduce the maximum estimated cost to the
Division to complete the reclamation responsibilities and therefore warrant a reduction of the bond amount.
The Request and demonstration shall be in the form of a permit revision application, or technical revision
application as appropriate."
Ce
