6/26/13 State.co.us Eecutive Branch Mail - Fwd: engineering specifications for stream crossings, Sunset a )ploration
Hi Kathy,
Per our discussions, because of individual site specific conditions such as soil conditions and moisture content,
water depth /flow rates of streams, approach grades, etc., the USFS cannot recommend a "one- size - fits -all"
design for stream crossing within the Sunset Exploration area.
In order to better field fit each individual stream crossing the FS will direct MCC construction methodologies at
each site, and make the determination on whether or not to install a culvert, a hardened surface ford, or other
specifications at the time of construction.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact me.
Regards,
Ryan
Ryan Z.
