NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety proposes to Withdraw Permit Revision
Application No. 9, submitted by Twentymile Coal, LLC for a coal mining permit at the Foidel
Creek Mine (Permit No. C- 1982 -056). Twentymile Coal, LLC proposed to modify the approved
Foidel Creek Mine plan for the Western Mining District (WMD) through Permit Revision No. 09
(PR -9). PR -9 proposed to add an additional longwall panel, the 11 -Left Panel, and to include an
extension of the 12 -Left and 13 -Left Panels. The additional panel, and panel extensions to the west
would require modification of the currently approved Foidel Creek Mine Permit Area boundary
adding approximately 560 acres to the Mine Permit Area. The proposed mine plan modification has
been withdrawn through a request by Twentymile Coal, LLC.
The Foidel Creek Mine is a /an Underground operation located in Routt County, approximately 23
miles Southwest of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Coal interest is Federal and private, and the
surface to be affected is Federal and private land. The permit area encompasses approximately
20,100.00 acres.
Copies of the proposed decision, including any stipulations, are on file for public inspection at the
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Room 215, Centennial Building, 1313
Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203 and at the Routt County Clerk and Recorder, 136 6th
Street, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477. Persons with an interest that may be adversely affected by
the proposed decision may request a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board on
the proposed decision. Such request must be made within thirty (30) days of the initial publication
of this notice, must be in writing, and must state with reasonable specificity the reasons for the
request and the objections to the proposed decision.
