Construction resumed on <br />Friday the 10th. <br />Amec: None <br />Project Issues: None at this time <br />Planning: Continuing Construction activities and scheduling for VLF and HWY 67. <br />CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES and PROGRESS: <br />I) Earthworks <br />A) VLF (Phase 1) <br />Topsoil Stripping: <br />An Amec field representative observed topsoil being removed during this reporting period in several locations within <br />the VLF Phase I limits. Approximately 6 inches to 2 feet were removed in various locations throughout the project <br />site. Several 740 articulating haul trucks transported the topsoil to the area 34 stockpile. In addition to topsoil <br />removal, the contractor continued to remove unsuitable materials within the limits of the PSSA. The materials were <br />transported to a designated stockpile with several articulating 740 haul trucks. <br />Structural Fill: <br />An Amec field representative observed the fill placement and compaction of structural fill within the Phase I Squaw <br />Gulch VLF and the HWY 67 embankment footprint. (See figure 1). A Cat 563 smooth drum roller was used for the <br />compaction efforts and a Cat D10 and a Cat D8 were utilized to push and place materials as structural fill. Structural <br />fill materials were placed in 18 to 24 inch lifts then compacted (Method specification applies). <br />In addition to structural fill placement an Amec field representative monitored structural fill material temperatures <br />placed within the Phase I Squaw Gulch VLF and the Hwy 67 embankment during all shifts.
