The current project will have no effect on the site. Cultural resource clearance is <br />recommended with no further work. <br />6.1.5 Site 5MF6063 fA -181 <br />Site Type: Historic trash scatter <br />Legal Location: Section 16, T4N, R94W <br />Landowner: Private <br />Site Dimensions: 121 x 84 ft <br />Site Description: Site 5MF6063 consists of a diffuse historic trash scatter located at 7,080 ft <br />(2,158 m) along the south - southeast slope of a northeast/southwest- trending ridgeline south of Axial <br />Basin (Figures 6.10- 6.11). There are stream drainages in the immediate vicinity. Soils consist of <br />a residual clay sandy loam with 40% gravels and pebbles. Vegetation consists of dense sagebrush <br />with lesser amounts of rabbitbrush and bunchgrass. The site has been impacted by livestock grazing. <br />The artifact assemblage consists of crushed and rusted sanitary cans (22 [one has a crushed hinged <br />lid]), matchstick filler evaporated milk cans (4), coffee can lids (2), and crushed tins (6). The cans <br />are too deteriorated to measure. No other artifacts or features are associated with the trash scatter. <br />A review of the MTP and Historical Indices for T4N, R94W, and the BLM patent website indicates <br />that Benjamin W. Warn received a Stock Raising Homestead Entry Patent (SRHE No. 891494) for <br />320 acres on December 26, 1922 (BLM n.d.). This patent was acquired under the December 29, <br />1916, Stock Raising Homestead Entry Act. <br />NRHP Eligibility Recommendation and Project Effect: Site 5MF6063 is recommended as not <br />eligible for inclusion on the NRHP under Criteria A or D. The site consists of a ubiquitous site type <br />common to the region that is not associated with persons (Benjamin Wann) or events important in <br />47599 TRC Mariah Associates Inc. <br />
