The letters are scratched into the sandstone to a depth of 1/4 inch. <br />There are no associated artifacts or features. <br />NRHP Eligibility Recommendation and Project Effect: Site 5MF6059 is recommended as not <br />eligible for listing on the NRHP under Criteria A, B, C, and D. The site is not associated with any <br />significant person, place, or event in Colorado or U.S. history. In addition, the historic inscription <br />does not possess any unique architectural design, constriction, or technique. The inscription is not <br />associated with any other artifacts or features and cannot be assigned to a temporal period. The <br />etched alphabet characters cannot provide information that would further the understanding of <br />regional or national history. <br />The site occurs within the mine permit boundary. However, the site is recommended as not eligible <br />for the NRHP and there will be no project effect. Cultural resource clearance is recommended with <br />no further work. <br />6„1.2 Site 5MF6060 (A -20) <br />Site Tyne: Prehistoric lithic scatter <br />Legal Location: Section 21, T4N, R94W <br />Landowner: Private <br />Site Dimensions: 59 x 37 m <br />Site Description: Site 5MF6060 is a diffuse lithic scatter located along a north/south- trending <br />finger ridge overlooking Morgan Gulch at 6,920 ft (2,109 m) (Figure 6.4). The artifacts are eroding <br />downslope to the east. A south - trending intermittent drainage that separates Morgan Gulch from <br />Red Littleton Canyon is approximately 0.2 mi (0.3 km) west of the site. The general area is <br />characterized by northeast - trending ridges separated by gulches (Figure 6.5). Soils are comprised <br />of residual slope washed silty loam with 10% gravels and pebbles.
