The mine is operated by Colowyo Coal Company L.P. under the Provisions. of the Colorado Surface Coal Min- ing Reclamation Act of 1979 The bond re- lease application was submitted by Colowyo Coal Company L.P. on April 26, 2012. The SL -06 application entails Phase I bond re- lease of 692 37 acres in the West and East Pits of Colowyo Mine. The affected area is located in Moffat County, approximately 28 miles South of Crag, Colorado.
