CMC — Henderson Operations
DRMS Annual Water Monitoring Report
May 2013
3.2.2 Surface Water Sampling Location: WFR -20
WFR -20 is located upgradient of the Henderson Mill in the Williams Fork River and serves as an
indicator of background surface water quality. The limited data suggest an increase in specific
conductance during the October 2012 monitoring event. This data point appears to be an outlier
and will continue to be assessed as future monitoring data becomes available. No other
anomalies were observed.
Tabular data for WFR -20 is presented in Table 2.
3.2.3 Surface Water Sampling Location: WFR -40
WFR -40 is located downgradient of the Henderson Mill in the Williams Fork River. No
anomalies were observed.
Tabular data for WFR -40 is presented in Table 2.
4.0 Groundwater Studies at the Mill
A Technical Memorandum has been prepared summarizing the work that has been completed to
date in accordance with Section 3.2.6.1 of the GWMP to evaluate the need for additional POC
wells at MLGW -7, below 3 -Dam and in the Potato Gulch drainage area. These potential
additional locations are being assessed to ensure adequate lateral coverage in areas downgradient
of the tailing storage facility. The Technical Memorandum is appended to this report as
Appendix A, Climax Molybdenum Company, Henderson Operations Groundwater Monitoring
Point of Compliance (POC) Technical Memorandum.
5.0 Conclusion
This report concerning the summary of annual water monitoring data collected for each POC
well and non -POC long -term surface water monitoring location meets the conditions of the
Henderson GWMP reporting requirements. In accordance with the GWMP, Henderson has
provided a summary of the 2012 annual water monitoring data, a comparison to NPLs, evaluation
of water quality trends, and outlier identification for each permit- required parameter for POC and
non -POC surface water locations. Additionally, a Technical Memorandum has been provided to
indicate the progress of the ground water investigation at the Henderson Mill.
5 of 5
