I, Jared Ebert of the
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) conducted the inspection. Graham Roberts with
Trapper Mining, Inc. Accompanied me on the inspection. The weather was partly cloudy and sunny during the
inspection.
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS — Rule 5.02.4(1):
The Division conducted a records check at the Trapper Mine office. See the end of the report for details.
BACKFILL and GRADING — Rule 4.14; Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour
4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials
4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6:
The Division walked eight transects in the backfilled, graded and topsoiled parcels reported to have been
completed during 2012 in the latest Annual Reclamation Report (TR111). Using a Trimble YUMA GPS unit,
along each transect the Division collected data points that measures elevation and location data for each point.
Using GPS Pathfmder Office® and ArcMap®, the Division was able to down load this data onto a computer. The
elevation measurements for each point along the transects was copied from the attribute table of these points in
ArcMap® and pasted into Microsoft Excel®. This information was then used to create cross - sections of the
backfilled and graded hill slope. Attachment 1 of this report are a set of maps that depicts the locations of each of
the transects. Attachment 2 are the Microsoft Excel® tables and cross - sections derived from the elevation data
collected in the field. Also, the Division was able to project the elevation collection points on Map M12; the Post
Mine Topography Map approved in the permit and the 2012 Annual Reclamation Report (ARR) Map submitted
with TRl 11. At each elevation collection point the Division was able to mathematically interpolate the elevation
at each point from the contour lines on the maps. This allowed the Division to compare elevations collected in the
field to the elevation derived from the actual survey of the reclaimed land from the 2012 ARR Map and the
approved post mine topography.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4
Page 2 of 11
