The Division understands that you intend to run a drift
from the Blue Bull into the workings of the Golden Age Main Shaft. As was noted in the letter
dated February 26, 2013, the proposed activities are not approved under your Notice of Intent to
Conduct Prospecting (NOI). Any changes to the approved prospecting activities must be
reviewed and approved by the Division. Pursuant to Hard Rock Rule 5.1.20), modifications shall
be reviewed in the same manner as new NOI's, use the same NOI form, and include
confidentiality designations. If the proposed activity is determined to be mining, then you would
need to apply for the appropriate Reclamation Permit.
The Division holds a financial warranty in the amount $200.00, which covers the minimal
reclamation activities which are required under your NOI. Any modification to your NOI,
including the proposed activities described above, would result in an increase of your financial
warranty. Pursuant to Hard Rock Rule 4.2.6, the financial warranty for prospecting operations
shall be in the amount of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) per acre, or such other amount as
determined by the Office, based on projected costs of reclamation. The Division can provide you
with a detailed bond calculation once an NOI modification or Reclamation Permit Application
has been submitted for review.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (303)866 -3567 x8116.
Sincerely,
U '
Michael A.
