This property does not
have high wildlife value; although that does not mean that the property has no value to wildlife.
Seasonally, the wildlife use of the property may be different. Small mammals and birds will use
the property year round. No threatened or endangered species occupy this property.
During the operation of this pit, wildlife will likely avoid the area. The noise and activity levels
that are associated with the proposed operation will disturb area wildlife and they will likely
move elsewhere.
Once the company is finished with the pit, CPW recommends that the property be restored to its
pre- development state. This would include rebuilding the natural contours of the land and
reseeding with a certified weed free native grass mix. If soil is brought in to accomplish this task,
it should come from a certified weed free provider.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact District Wildlife Manager Aimee Ryel at
(970) 854 -3512.
Sincerely,
Tom Kroening
Area Wildlife Manager
cc: S.
