SECTION 5.0 Topsoil Stockpile Locations
Trapper's approved permit (Section 4.9.2) specifies that CDRMS will be provided with map(s) illustrating
the location of topsoil stockpiles constructed during the previous year and the approximate locations for
stockpiles proposed for construction during the upcoming year (Map 1).
Table 5 -1 lists all existing stockpiles with their identification nomenclature, coordinates (based on the
approximate center of the pile), acres, construction date and volume; which is updated annually.
During 2012, Trapper depleted five existing piles; ASH10, F95 -1, F95 -2, F2 -07 and G1 -05 were totally
depleted for topsoil replacement. Topsoil piles Al -09, G2 -06, Z1 -09, Z2 -07 and ZTS -4 either had topsoil
added or removed from them during stripping and laydown activities. Topsoil stripping and /or laydown
work took place in F Pit, Z -Pit, M -Pit, Ash Dump and Horse Gulch areas.
At the end of 2012, excluding stockpiles abandoned with the approvals of MR -155 and TR -94, there are
60 existing topsoil stockpiles at Trapper affecting 159.1 acres and storing approximately 3,482,911 cubic
yards of salvaged topsoil.
Presently there are no proposed approximate locations for new topsoil stockpiles in 2013. Trapper is
planning to utilize existing topsoil stockpiles for the 2013 reclamation season.
GCR/BDN 2/13
[Annual Report\DRMSI2RPT\12TStext5 -0]
