Section 7.0 Operation Schedule
The following operation parameters are forecast:
- 6 -8 month per year operation (approx. 200 days per year) weather permitting
- active operation will be maximum 6 days per week, 12 hours per day
- move approximately 2000 cy of overburden per day
- process approximately 1000 to 2000 cy per day of gold bearing gravel through the gold processing
plant
- a rock grizzly may be located in the active pit to avoid transporting large rock to the processing plant
- strip an average of 6" of topsoil on virgin areas and either directly respread on previously mined and
regraded areas or place in a stockpile for use in reclamation.
It is expected that the swell of the virgin gravel material when mined will be 20 %, however, since
some material will then be sold as road base and other construction material, the net gain/loss in min-
ing virgin areas is more or less zero.
Approximately 21,000 cy of gold bearing gravel will be processed in the plant every 45 days which is
equivalent to 86,000 cy per year. This is equivalent to 129,000 tons per year. This amount less 6% for
fines loss, is the amount available for the gravel operation per year = 120,000 tons per year. It is antic-
ipated that gravel sales will be far less than this amount, which is dependent upon demand in the local
area. All material that cannot be reasonably sold will be backfilled in the mining operation.
At any one time, three to four cuts will be active. The one in advance of the active cut will be stripped
of topsoil and will also have overburden removal activity. The active pit will have overburden re-
moval and gold bearing gravel mining. The cut behind the active pit will have overburden placement,
regrading and topsoil placement. Reclamation plan details are described in Exhibit E.
Mining Area 1: 4.47 acres
Mining Area 2: 5.28 acres
Mining Area 3: 6.71 acres
Total Mining Area: 16.46 acres
Average depth = 100 feet. Total volume to be moved is 2.65 million cy.
Gloria Z Mine 2013 Amendment 17
