Thank You.
Hi Christina:
Thanks for the update on Friday regarding the McClane Canyon Mine Lease Modification EA. You
indicated that a signed Decision for the EA will be forthcoming. Per our conversation I still have one
remaining item that needs to come to resolution before DRMS can propose its decision for Permit Revision
No. 2 regarding the permit boundary expansion for the lease modification. As you know the operator pulled
all of the surface facilities and any associated new disturbance from the original PR -2 proposal. Consultation
under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act was initiated for this project and is still in
progress by the Federal agencies that are involved (see attached letter from SHPO to the BLM dated
December 10, 2010). I understand that some additional data was collected to complete the analysis and the
project is still under review. Alissa Leavitt- Reynolds of your staffhas replaced Aline LaForge whom
originally reviewed the proposal. Could you please give me an update on the status of this work. I will
need to make a Findings regarding the outcome of this consultation and cannot proceed further without final
correspondence from the BLM & SHPO. I really appreciate all of your work on this project to date and
look forward to hearing from you regarding this matter. Thank You
Mike
Michael P.
