Ms. Amber Meran notified the Division of a release of process water from a fire line on April 29,
2013 at 3:53PM. The leak was discovered at approximately 7:OOAM on April 29, 2013.
Notice Requirements (3.1.13(2)):
(a) Climax Molybdenum, M- 1977 -342, Amber Meran
(b) (303) 569 -3221 Ext. 2235
(c) Late PM on April 28, 2013, discovered at 7:OOAM on April 29, 2013
(d) Process water used for fire water and held in storage tanks on the hill above facility
(e) An estimated 5,000 gallons of process water was released. The released water did not
leave the permit area. The water pooled in the area of the leak. No adverse impacts
to human health, property or the environment were reported.
(f) Henderson employees closed the shut -off line valve, stopping the leak. A vacuum
truck is schedule to arrive to clean up the water.
