As required, attached please find the revision fee in the amount of $144.00.
We request the commencement of the initial five -year period for temporary Cessation be October
11, 2012.
The reason for the request of temporary Cessation is as follows:
The Slab Canyon Quarry was a source of raw material for the Fort Collins cement plant which
was closed in 2002. Since then, the quarry has been inactive. Reclamation work had been
completed on a portion of the property and since then has been monitored on a periodic basis. In
addition, there has been an aggressive weed control mitigation efforts on the property.
For the Slab Canyon Quarry Holcim plans to complete final reclamation plans and complete the
reclamation during the cessation period. Holcim will continue the weed control mitigation work,
conduct periodic site inspections for stormwater management and general site upkeep.
Currently, there is a Financial Warranty in the amount of $184,819 which Holcim believes is
sufficient to cover the current reclamation liabilities. Holcim is currently working on the final
reclamation plans which will include a new estimate cost for reclamation.
