As required, attached please find the revision fee in the amount of $144.00.
We request the commencement of the initial five -year period for temporary Cessation be October
11, 2013.
The reason for the request of temporary Cessation is as follows:
The Boettcher Limestone quarry was the primary source of limestone for the Fort Collins cement
plant which was closed in 2002. Since then, the quarry has been reclaimed and the reclamation
has been monitored for successful vegetation. In addition, there has been an aggressive weed
control mitigation efforts on the property.
A release of reclamation was requested in 2012; however, due to water ponding issues, the
release was denied.
Holcim's plans for the Boettcher limestone quarry is to continue to monitor the reclamation,
continue the weed control mitigation work, conduct periodic site inspections for stormwater
management and general site upkeep and to resolve the water ponding issues to the State
Engineer's satisfaction. Once the ponding issues are mitigated then Holcim will request a partial
release of reclamation.
