No. CG-1 3) Name NA <br /> I. ARCHAEOLOGICAL DATA: 4) Site Tyne lithic scatter <br /> 5) Description/features The site consists of two concentrations of flakes on a <br /> sout-hfacing open bench adjacent to Evans Gulch. The largest concentration is vi.siblo <br /> primarily in the two-track road which extends through the site. <br /> 6) Cultural Material Approximately 20+ flakes of chert and chalcedony (see lithic <br /> reduction tally sheet) . No formal tools were observed. One flake was utilized or <br /> retouched and another exhibits evidence of heat treatment. <br /> 7) Cultural Affiliation aboriginal/unknown Date unknown <br /> 8) Dating Criteria none, no diagnostics were located <br /> 9) Site Depth could be up Based on cut/bank auger shovel other road cut <br /> ca. 25 cm.+ <br /> 10) Activities inferred from site features primary and secondary lithic reduction of a <br /> minimum of 4 items. <br /> 11) Research potential/significance The site may contain subsurface cultural materials or <br /> features based on flakes eroding in the roadcut. Therefore, 5LK759 is recommended as <br /> potentially eligible for nomination to the NRHP under 36 CFR 60.4, criterion d. It could <br /> possibly contain information important to our knowledge of aboriginal utilization in the <br /> mountains, especially at high elevations. <br /> 12) Known Collections/Excavations/Publications none <br /> 13) Informants:-- Name/Address none <br />
